Vincent van Gogh est une figure incontournable de l'art du XXe siècle. A ce jour, son influence perdure auprès des artistes et son œuvre exerce un magnétisme sans précédent sur le public. C'est précisément à Arles qu'il produisit en seulement quinze mois ses plus beaux chefs d’œuvres. La Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles propose une approche unique de Van Gogh en explorant la résonance de son œuvre avec la création artistique actuelle. Grâce aux partenariats établis avec des collections publiques et privées, la Fondation présente toute l’année une ou plusieurs toiles de Van Gogh en regard d’œuvres d’artistes modernes et contemporains à l'occasion d’expositions temporaires — tels Laura Owens, Roni Horn, David Hockney, Urs Fischer, Alice Neel, et Nicole Eisenman en 2022. Deux peintures originales de Van Gogh, Paysan et paysanne plantant des pommes de terre et Panier de pommes de terre (Nuenen 1885), ouvrent l’exposition. Conditions d'accessibilité : La Fondation Van Gogh dispose d'un ascenseur. Du mardi au dimanche de 11h à 15h : visite commentée de l'exposition +4€, sans réservation, durée 1h à 1h15 Certaines visites peuvent être annulées.
