- To send the Days Out Now newsletter and provide subscriber benefits you request.
- To manage subscriptions, preferences and unsubscribe requests.
- To respond to questions and enquiries.
- To operate, secure and improve the website.
- To measure readership and affiliate performance where consent is required and has been given.
Our legal bases
We rely on consent for newsletter subscriptions and optional cookies. We may also rely on legitimate interests to secure and operate Days Out Now and respond to enquiries, and on legal obligations where records must be retained. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful use.
Email updates
We send marketing emails only where the rules allow us to do so. You can unsubscribe through the link in any marketing email. We may still send essential account or service messages where necessary.
Who receives information?
We use carefully selected providers for website hosting, security, email delivery, analytics, forms and business administration. These may include Automattic Inc. (WordPress.com), Cloudflare, The Newsletter Plugin by Web Agile S.a.s.; subscriber data is stored in the WordPress.com database and Google Analytics.
Our guides also link to independent travel and booking providers including Stay22, Booking.com, KAYAK, Skyscanner, GetYourGuide, Love to Visit, Expedia, Hotels.com, Agoda, Vrbo and Tripadvisor. When you follow a link or allow an embedded tool, that provider processes information under its own privacy notice.
International transfers
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, we use providers that put recognised safeguards in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections.
How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose collected, including legal, accounting, security and dispute requirements. Newsletter records are kept while you remain subscribed and suppression records may be retained so we respect an unsubscribe request. Business and tax records are normally retained for the period required by law.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Data protection complaints
Email info@daysoutnow.co.uk with the words “Data protection complaint” in the subject line. Include enough information for us to understand the issue and how you would like it resolved. We will acknowledge a data protection complaint within 30 days, investigate it without undue delay and explain the outcome. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Children
Days Out Now is written for adults planning travel and days out. Children should not create accounts or send personal information without the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Security and changes
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online system is completely secure. We may update this notice when our services or legal duties change. The latest version will always appear on this page.
