About Gallery of Modern Art

The Gallery of Modern Art, known as GoMA, is Glasgow's main gallery of contemporary art. It opened in 1996 in a neoclassical building on Royal Exchange Square in the city centre. Before becoming a gallery, the building served as a private home, a bank and a library.

GoMA runs a programme of temporary exhibitions and workshops, showing work by local and international artists. Its major biannual projects take on contemporary social issues, so there is usually something new to see on a return visit. Exhibitions change regularly, so it rewards a return trip.
