About Mansion House

The Mansion House is the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London and a Grade I listed building in the City of London. It was designed by George Dance in the Palladian style and built mainly in the 1740s, and it remains at the centre of civic life in the City.

It hosts some of the City's most formal events, including two white tie dinners each year. At the Easter banquet the Foreign Secretary speaks, and in early June the Chancellor of the Exchequer gives the Mansion House Speech on the state of the economy.
