A) Stock Ghyll Force (Ambleside)

A tall, dramatic waterfall hidden in woodland just a few minutes from Ambleside town centre.

Parking:

Stock Ghyll Lane Parking (small lay‑by) 📍 Postcode: LA22 0QT Walk: 10–15 minutes on a clear woodland path.

Alternative: Park in Ambleside town centre (LA22 9DT) and walk up.

B) Skelwith Force (Skelwith Bridge)

A short, powerful waterfall on the River Brathay, very easy to reach.

Parking:

Skelwith Bridge Car Park 📍 Postcode: LA22 9NN Walk: 5 minutes on a flat riverside path.

C) Colwith Force (Little Langdale)

A beautiful multi‑tiered waterfall tucked into woodland between Skelwith Bridge and Little Langdale.

Parking:

High Park / Colwith Force Parking Lay‑by 📍 Postcode: LA22 9NX Walk: 15–20 minutes on a clear track through woodland.

D) Moss Force (Newlands Pass / Buttermere)

One of the most dramatic roadside waterfalls in the Lake District, with mountain views in every direction.

Parking:

Newlands Pass Car Park (right beside the falls) 📍 Postcode: CA12 5TS Walk: 1–3 minutes — you can see the waterfall from the car park.

E) Stanley Ghyll Waterfall (Eskdale)

A stunning waterfall hidden in a deep, narrow gorge. Recently improved paths make it much easier to access.

Parking:

Eskdale Mill Car Park 📍 Postcode: CA19 1TG Walk: 20–30 minutes through woodland and gorge paths.
