Most outdoor areas are flat, while some house areas involve steps, so discuss access needs on arrival. Normal admission applies.

Collect a trail guide at Dyffryn Gardens visitor reception and look for fairy doors, oversized mushrooms and stories from Welsh folklore. The family Calan Gaeaf trail includes games among the gardens. Step-free routes are available, and mobility equipment should be booked ahead. Dogs on short leads are welcome. Dress for an outdoor visit; normal admission applies.

Help Horace, Tyntesfield’s escaped stone figure, prepare for a Gothic Gathering by completing activities around the estate. The trail starts at Home Farm and visits the Kitchen Garden before returning. Trail maps cost £3.50. The route is step-free but includes gravel, uneven paths and slopes, so check access needs and normal venue charges before visiting.

- The site is mostly flat, however there are some steps in the house. We have created an alternative route for wheelchair users. The bedrooms are only accessible via stairs due to the historic nature of the house – a flip book of photographs is available for anyone who is unable to reach upstairs. Please ask a volunteer or staff member if you need assistance.
