About Amazon World Zoo Park
Located in Newchurch on the edge of Sandown, this medium-sized zoo began as a private bird collection. It grew into a zoo park open all year, and in 2024 became a charity under the name Amazon Rainforest Conservation Centre.
The collection focuses on South American rainforest wildlife, including giant anteaters, ocelots, armadillos, sloths, capybara and tapirs. It is a family-friendly way to learn about one of the world's richest habitats.
