Build the journey day by day
Mam Tor, Castleton and Hope Valley
Start with the Mam Tor and Great Ridge walk for panoramic views across Hope Valley. Afterwards explore Castleton, with time for its independent shops, cafés and stone streets, plus an optional visit to Peveril Castle, Peak Cavern or Speedwell Cavern. Finish with dinner and an overnight stay around Castleton or Hope.

Burbage Rocks, Higger Tor, Bakewell and Monsal Head
After breakfast, travel to Longshaw Estate for the circular walk across Burbage Rocks, Higger Tor and Carl Wark. Spend the afternoon beside the River Wye in Bakewell, browsing the shops and trying a traditional Bakewell Pudding. If time allows, finish at the Monsal Head viewpoint over Monsal Dale and the Headstone Viaduct.
