Start your weekend with one of the Peak District’s most iconic walks.

The Mam Tor & Great Ridge offers breathtaking panoramic views across Hope Valley, rolling hills and some of the most photographed scenery in the National Park. The well-maintained paths make it suitable for most walkers and it’s easy to see why it’s one of the area’s most popular routes.

🏡 Afternoon – Explore Castleton
After your walk, head into the beautiful village of Castleton.
Spend a few hours wandering its independent shops, cafés and traditional stone streets before stopping for lunch.
If you still have some energy left, make the short climb to Peveril Castle, one of England’s earliest Norman castles, where you’ll be rewarded with incredible views across Hope Valley.
If caves are more your thing, Castleton is also home to several fascinating show caves, including Peak Cavern and Speedwell Cavern.

Stay around Castleton or Hope for the evening.
Both villages offer excellent accommodation along with welcoming country pubs serving hearty food after a day on the hills.

🗺 Day 2 – Burbage Rocks, Higger Tor & Bakewell

After breakfast, make your way to Longshaw Estate for another spectacular Peak District adventure.
This circular walk takes in the dramatic gritstone edges of Burbage Rocks, the panoramic summit of Higger Tor and the mysterious Iron Age hillfort of Carl Wark.
Expect wide-open moorland, incredible viewpoints and some of the finest scenery anywhere in the Peak District.
🏘 Afternoon – Bakewell
After your walk, drive over to the charming market town of Bakewell.
Stroll along the River Wye, browse the independent shops and don’t leave without sampling an authentic Bakewell Pudding from one of the town’s famous bakeries.
It’s the perfect place to slow the pace before heading home.
📸 One Final View
If time allows, finish your weekend with a short detour to Monsal Head.
The famous viewpoint overlooking Monsal Dale and the Headstone Viaduct provides a spectacular final stop before beginning your journey home.
