Installé dans une authentique bâtisse du XVIIe siècle, le Musée de l’Inquisition invite à découvrir, au travers d’une muséographie récemment revisitée, une période marquante mais encore trop souvent méconnue. L’exposition est dotée d'une importante galerie d’instruments de torture. Elle témoigne de l’ampleur et de la propagation de l’Inquisition à travers l’Europe, bien au-delà des frontières françaises, et permet de mesurer l’intolérance et le climat anxiogène qui régnaient à cette époque. On y retrouve également les principaux acteurs de l’Inquisition et de la résistance cathare en Occitanie. Des explications historiques sur panneaux traduits en plusieurs langues et sur supports audiovisuels vous accompagnent tout au long de votre visite, mettant en relief les lieux emblématiques à l'interieur desquels l’histoire continue de résonner. Des visites guidées théâtralisées, adaptées aux groupes, à partir de 12 personnes, sur réservation, permettent d’approfondir cette découverte.
