La villa Les Rhumbs doit son nom au terme de marine désignant les trente-deux divisions de la rose des vents, les parents de Christian Dior l'acquièrent en 1905. Christian Dior affectionne particulièrement ce lieu. Il écrira : "la maison de mon enfance… j'en garde le souvenir le plus tendre et le plus émerveillé. Que dis-je ? ma vie, mon style, doivent presque tout à sa situation et à son architecture". Dès 1925, le futur couturier décide de remplacer la serre à proximité de la villa par une pergola avec miroir d'eau. Ce salon de plein air est très inspiré des créations contemporaines de l'époque. Dans le prolongement de la pergola, Madeleine Dior ajoute une roseraie appuyée sur le mur longeant le sentier des douaniers, bénéficiant ainsi d'une exposition abritée des vents salins. Lorsqu'en 1932, peu après la mort de Madeleine Dior, le père industriel est ruiné par la crise, la propriété est mise en vente. Achetée par la ville de Granville, son jardin sera ouvert au public dès 1938. La roseraie est mutilée en 1991 en raison de l'empiètement du sentier du littoral sur le domaine, elle est restaurée et agrandie en 2002. Accès libre et gratuit, ouvert toute l'année.
